‘I wish he was …’: Scindia’s comeback after Rahul’s ‘backbencher’ remark | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday shot back at Rahul Gandhi for his “backbencher” remark, saying he wished the Congress leader had showed similar concerns “when I was in the party”.
Gandhi had told Congress’s youth wing leaders recently that had Scindia remained in the party, he would have certainly become chief minister, but was now a “backbencher” in the BJP.
Hitting back at Rahul, Scindia today said that he does not wish to comment as he has maintained a certain level in the past year and has always stood above that level.
However, Scindia added, “I wish Rahul Gandhi was as concerned when I was in the Congress as he is now.”
Scindia had left the Congress along with some legislators loyal to him to join the BJP last year.
His resignation led to the fall of the Kamal Nath-led Congress government in Madhya Pradesh.
