Delhi govt allocates Rs 9,934 crore for health sector – here are other major announcements in budget


The Delhi government has allocated Rs 9,934 crores for health services during the Delhi Budget 2021, which is 14% of the total budget. Rs 50 crores in this year’s budget to provide free COVID-19 vaccines to the people of the national capital.
“COVID-19 vaccines will be available free of cost for people of Delhi in government hospitals in the union territory. We have allotted Rs 50 crores in the budget for the same,” said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia while presenting Delhi’s first paperless budget on Monday in the Delhi Assembly.
He also said that the number of COVID-19 vaccinations will soon be increased from 45,000 to 60,000 per day.
“Today I present this ‘Deshbhakti Budget’ in view of the Centre’s celebrations of India’s 75 years of independence. This budget will focus on India’s 75 as well as 100 years of independence,” said Sisodia while presenting the budget.
Here are the major announcements for the health sector in the Delhi Budget 2021:
– Special women clinics for women will be opened in Delhi from next year.- Health card will be issued for the citizens of Delhi, in which there will be complete information about the health of the person.- If the number of patients in the government hospital is more, then the operation or expensive test can be done in private hospitals.- The ‘Farishte Dilli Ke’ scheme was launched for the victims of road accidents. The lives of 10,600 citizens have been saved so far.- Citizens coming for tests in government hospitals can get the tests done for free in private hospitals.- If you are getting a date for operation for more than 1 month, then you can get a free operation in private hospitals.- Sisodia said that the provision of 9934 crores for health services, which is 14% of the total budget.
The budget session of the Delhi assembly is scheduled to continue till March 16.
