BJP local leader shot at in West Bengal, party blames TMC for attack

A 32-year-old BJP leader identified as Sanjay Das was shot at in Haringhata area of West Bengal’s Nadia district on Sunday (March 7).
Local police said that Das was found injured during a patrol near a tea stall at Kapileswar Santoshpur and he was admitted to a hospital. Ranaghat Police District SP, VSR Ananthnag, said that Sanjay Das is a booth president of the BJP under ward no 10 of Haringhata Municipality. Ananthnag added that Das is currently in stable condition and is stated to be out of danger.
The BJP has accused the TMC of launching the attack on Das. The TMC, which is currently in power in West Bengal, denied the charge and claimed that Das was shot as a result of the fallout of a clash among the members of the BJP.
