Top 5 Cars That Could Rival Tesla EVs: Audi Q4 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQS, Toyota bZ4X, Genesis EV, Mercedes-Benz EQB – ZigWheels

Tesla electric cars pack incredible performance, futuristic tech, and most importantly, a confidence-inspiring real-world driving range. Thanks to the carmaker’s extensive supercharger network, range anxiety should not be much of a bother. Surely, a Tesla is an EV enthusiast’s dream.

That said, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Genesis, and Toyota have also unveiled their respective offerings capable of taking on Tesla EVs. Below are the top five new cars that can put up a strong fight:

Audi Q4 e-tron

Audi’s newest entry-level electric SUV will take on Tesla’s entry-level SUV, the Model Y. It makes up to 299PS of grunt and can go up to 520km on a single charge. Since the flagship e-tron SUV is on its way to India, we can expect the Q4 e-tron to be offered here as well. Check out the electric SUV.

Mercedes-Benz EQS

Mercedes-Benz EQS, the electric equivalent of the S-Class luxury sedan, will take on the Model S. Its standout feature is the 55.5-inch MBUX Hyperscreen digital dashboard setup. The sedan has a drag coefficient of 0.20, making it one of the most aerodynamically efficient cars ever. A performance-oriented version is also on its way. Head here for more details

Toyota bZ4X

Toyota’s electric crossover concept, the bZ4X, is based on the carmaker’s new e-TNGA platform. The first model from the carmaker’s bZ series gets an on-board solar charging system! The crossover is likely to rival the Tesla Model X. Head here for more details on the bZ4X.

Mercedes-Benz EQB

Another Model Y rival, the EQB is essentially the GLB’s electric version. It is the luxury carmaker’s third EV that has been revealed this year after the EQA and EQS. The EQB has a WLTP-claimed range of 419km, and despite its compact size, can seat seven occupants. For more details, head here.

Genesis G80

Korean luxury carmaker Genesis has taken the wraps off the electrified G80, which will take on the Model S. Based on the same platform as its ICE-powered counterpart, the EV can go 500km on a single charge. The electric G80 takes just 4.9 seconds to go from 0-100kmph and only 22 minutes to get charged from 10 to 80 percent (using a 350kW fast charger). Check out the G80 here.
